Energy Savings

Energy saving is really a challenge now a days, where fuel costs are very high and incomes are low as compared to expenditures.

Utilize Steam
Here I can give some energy saving ideas especially when you are in kitchen. If you are cooking try to use the steam coming out of your kettle or the cooking pan. Like if your are boiling any thing like rice, or egg, cover the pot so that, the steam of the pot could be utilized. when you do this, slower the heat. You will not only get your meals cooked quickly but your will also save energy.

Another easy way is to always try to cook your foods in pressure cooker. But remember the safety measures while cooking in pressure cooker. As this can be very dangerous if you don's consider the safety measures for using a pressure cooker. It will also save your energy and time in kitchen.

This is also worth mentioning that you can't use pressure cooker for frying. Frying pans are made for this purpose. For cooking in steam you need to provide steam which is done by adding water in your pan or in your pressure cooker.

Don't Turn the Heater On in Advance
Never let the stove or heater on if you are just preparing for the cooking. If you will do this not only your will waste the energy but it can be dangerous and may result in a hazard.

The ideal situation is that prepare the materials for your cooking, like pealing or cutting of  any vegetables, or mixing of better. When this is ready, turn your stove or heater on and then do you cooking.

Save Water
Some people when they are working in kitchen, they turn the tap on and let the water waste all the time even if they are not doing any washing. This is because they think that they will wash something, even if they don't do this or they think that turning the tap on will be difficult. These are little things which we should pay heed to.

Washing vegetables
Some people wash the vegetables after cutting. This is not the right way. In this way, the important nutrients are wasted and you will not be benefited fully with that vegetable. Wash the vegetables first and then peal and cut these. Also note that if you are pealing the vegetables, don't give a deep peal. because again you are wasting the important nutrients. Same is for fruits.
